Fort Owenswood is the second town of the state of Milford. It is a prosperous, sprawling city split in half by the Owen River. Fort Owenswood is situated on the remains of an old British fort built by the marine. Nowadays, the steel and concrete of downtown Fort Owenswood are a more futuristic replacement of the old wooden settlement built in the 1830s, when it was one of the first towns on mainland New Shetland.
Fort Owenswood has a popular alternative music scene. Many bands and dance acts hail from the area, and the famous Republic and Xenon clubs are situated in the town. The town is know for its theatre and cathedral, and is home of the Owenswood Eagles, an A-league rugby team.
