Southland is the most southeastern state of the Nieves census region. It is also the biggest state in surface size. Its state capital is Dun.
Southland is not very densely populated and famous for its wildlife. The mainland of Southland is dominated by a large mountainous plateau (Southland Plateau) and a narrow mountain range in the western part of the state, called the Lawrence Mountains. Two large islands, High Island and Ginnebore Island just off the eastern coast of New Shetland are part of Southland too.
